    1. Issuing letter of permission for Trekking

    1. 4 copies of application form according to schedule 10 or 10 (a) of the Immigration Rules.

    3. Licence issued by the Tourism Industries Division, Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation to operate trekking business.

    4. Licence issued by Nepal Rastra Bank allowing exchanging foreign currencies.

    7. Name list of trekkers.

    8. Photostat copy of validity of Visa and Passports of trekkers.

    17. Recommendation letter of Trekking Agents Association (TAAN)

    1. For lower Dolpa area -U.S. Dollars 10 for four weeks and after that U.S. Dollars 20 per week per person.

    2. For Olanchungola, Lelep, Papung, Yamphudin area of Taplujung District; Kimathanka, Chepuwa, Hatiya, Pawakhola Village Development Committee areas in Sankhuwasabha District and all areas northwest from Thame to Nangpal of Namche Village Development Committee in Solukhumbu District - U.S.Dollars 10 for four weeks and after that U.S. Dollars 20 per week per person.

    3. U.S.Dollars 10 per week per person in Temure and Thamun of Rashuwa District.

    4. U.S. Dollars 90 from September to November for Nar, Fu and north side of Tilche village of Thoche village Development committee (VDC) of Manang district and 75 U.S Dollars from December to August.

    5. U.S. Dollars 90 for first seven days and after that U.S.Dollars 15 per day per person in Mugu, Dolpu, Pulu and Vangri area of Mugu district.

    6. U.S. Dollars 90 for first seven days and after that U.S. Dollars 15 per day per person in Khada, Sipal and Dhuli area of Bhajang district.

    7. U.S. Dollars 90 for first seven days and U.S. Dollars 15 per day per person in Vyas VDC area of Darchula district.

    8. U.S. Dollars 700 for first 10 days and after that U.S. Dollars 70 per day per person in upper Mustang and upper Dolpa.

    9. U.S. Dollars 90 per week per person and after that U.S. Dollars 75 per week per person from December to August in Manashlu area.

    10. U.S. 90 Dollars per week per person and after that U.S Dollars15 per day in Simikot, Yari, Limi, Muchu VDC and area adjoining to the way of Tibet through Tange Khola of Dharma VDC.

    6. Extending tourist Visa (not more than 150 days in one Visa year).

    1. Nepalese Currency equivalent to U.S. Dollars 30 for the increase of 30 days Visa.

    2. Late Fees:-Nepalese currency equivalent to U.S.Dollars 2 per person for first 30 days in addition to US $ 30.00. From 31st day to 90 days, additional US $ 3. Dollars 3 per person per day and after 90 days, additional U.S. $ 5 per person per day.

    3. For staying irregularly without visa, the Director General may impose fine according to the Immigration Act.

    7. Commercial Visa

    • 4 copies of application form according to schedule -2 of Immigration Rules with photos, 3 copies of form for renewal.

    • One Copy of certificate of registration of the business or (company) in the office of the Companies Registrar.

    • One copy of permanent / temporary registration of Account Number for tax purpose.

    • Copy of the share certificate or the approval of foreign investment. (If the share investment is made for commercial purpose).

    • One copy of certificate of registration of company or business.

    • Letter of recommendation from the Department of Industry/ Commerce for the purpose of Visa.

    • One copy of the page of Passport containing personal details of the passport holder.

    • One copy of the latest Visa.

    • Nepalese currency equivalent to U.S. Dollars 100 for 1 year and Nepalese currency equivalent to U.S. Dollars 250 for 5 years.

    		 Within three hours of Completion of process. Immigration officer at non - tourist Visa Section. Director/ Director General.
    8. Study Visa

    • 4 copies of application form according to schedule -2 of Immigration Rules with photo, 3 copies of form for renewal.

    • One copy of certificate of admission in the concerned educational institution.

    • Recommendation letter by Ministry of Education for the purpose of Visa.

    • Bank deposit (U.S.Dollars 250 per person per month and in case of dependent person, U.S. Dollars 2000 per person per year) or receipt of exchange of equivalent foreign currency.

    • One copy of the page of Passport Containing personal details of the passport holder.

    • One copy of latest Visa.

    • Nepalese currency equivalent to U.S. Dollars 9 or SriLankan rupees 7500 for the Sri Lankan students.

    • Nepalese currency equivalent to U.S. Dollars 15 for Bangladeshi students (with multiple Visa facilities).

    • Nepalese currency equivalent to U.S. Dollars 15 for Pakistani students for single Visa and U.S. Dollars 25 for multiple Visas.

    • Nepalese currency equivalent to U.S. Dollars 5 for student of the Maldives.

    • Nepalese currency equivalent to U.S. Dollars 40 for student of the countries not mentioned above.

    		Within three hours of Completion of process. Immigration officer at non - tourist Visa Section. Director/ Director General.
    9. Residential Visa

    (a) Foreigner who wants to live in Nepal without doing any business.

    • 4 copies of application form as per schedule -4 of Immigration Rules with Photograph, 3 copies of form for renewal.

    • Bank statement showing deposit of at least U.S Dollars 20,000.

    • Postage stamp of Rs.5.

    • Certificate having regular income of at least U.S. Dollars 20,000 per year.

    • Letter of personal character and behavior in the past.

    • No objection letter issued by the concerned country or embassy.

    • Health certificate issued by T.U. teaching hospital.

    • The evidence of completing 60 years (or) if the age is more than 60, a letter issued by the government of the concerned country of the concerned diplomatic mission stating that he/she is retired person .

    • One copy of the page of Passport containing personal detail of the passport holder.

    • One copy of latest Visa.

    • The application form filled in by the applicant has to be received at this Department, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, from the Mission, which has recommended for the residential visa.

    • Nepalese currency equivalent to U.S. Dollars 700 per annum.

    • U.S. Dollars 1200 for renewal charge. (U.S. Dollars 1100 exempted for persons who have been residing in Nepal before the amendment to Rules 11(1) (e) of Immigration Rules in 2058 B.S (1998 A.D).

    		The next day after the acceptance of the Home Ministry/the same day in the case of renewal. Immigration officer at non-tourist Visa section. Director/ Director General.
    b) The Visa for person and his family who invests a minimum of One hundred thousand U.S Dollars or other equivalent currency at once in industrial business of Nepal.

    • 4 copies of application form as per schedule -2 of Immigration Rules with Photos, 3 copies of form for renewal.

    • 1 copy of the certificate of Company registration in the office of companies Registrar.

    • 1 copy of permanent /temporary registration of Account Number for tax purpose.

    • The copy of the share certificate or permission for foreign investment. (If the share is placed for the purpose of business.)

    • A copy of certificate registration of company or business.

    • Letter of recommendation by the Department of Industries for the purpose of Visa.

    • One copy of the page of passport containing personal details of the passport holder.

    • A copy of the latest Visa.

    • Nepalese currency equivalent to U.S .Dollars 200 per year.

    		The next day after the approval of Home Ministry / in case of renewal, the same day even on the basis of character / activities report submission. Immigration officer at non-tourist Visa section. Director/ Director General.
    10. Non-residential Nepalese Visa

    • 4 copies of application form as per schedule -3(a) of Immigration Rules with Photograph, 3 copies of form for renewal to be submitted to the Nepalese Mission abroad or directly to the Department of Immigration.

    • 1 copy of the certificate of relationship issued by the concerned authority or the recommendation letter of the Royal Nepal Embassy or mission of the concerned country.

    • Health certificate

    • 1 copy of the page of Passport containing personal details of the passport holder.

    • 1 copy of the latest Visa.

    • In case of non-residential Nepalese student visa, recommendation letter of the education institute in Nepal.

    • Nepalese currency equivalent to U.S. Dollars 100.00, but for students obtaining non-residential Nepalese student visa, Nepalese currency equivalent to US $ 50.00.

    		Next day of the date on which approval of the Home Ministry is obtained /The same day in case of renewal. Immigration officer at non-tourist Visa section Director/ Director General.
    11. Non Tourist Visa

    • Person asking for non-tourist visa on the basis of marital status, 4 copies of application form as per schedule-2(a) of Immigration Rules, for other had to submit 4 copies of application form as per schedule -2 of Immigration Rules with photograph; and 3 copies of form for renewal.

    • Work Permit or labor permit or contract letter.

    • Letter of the concerned Ministry to issue non-tourist Visa.

    • 1 copy of the page containing personal details of the passport holder.

    • 1 copy of the latest Visa.

    • Authentic source for expenditures to be incurred in Nepal.

    • Persons asking for non-tourist Visa on the basis of relationship must submit 1 copy of the certificate of relationship between the foreigner and his/her Nepalese relative issued by the concerned authority and a copy of the citizenship certificate of the Nepalese relative.

    • While issuing non-tourist Visa to Chinese citizen of the Tibetan origin on the basis of relationship, a copy of the letter of VDC/Municipality / Sub-Municipal Corporation /Municipal Corporation /District Administration Office or Chinese Embassy in Nepal certifying that he/she is a relative of the Nepalese citizen.

    • Persons asking for non-tourist Visa on the basis of press have to submit a copy of Press Representative Certificate issued from the Department of Information, and letter of recommendation for Visa written by the Ministry of Information and Communication or the Department of Information.

      (a) If a non-tourist Visa up to a period of 30 days has to be issued, US Dollars 25 or the equivalent convertible currency.

      (b) For foreigners of Nepalese origin and foreign passport holder children of Nepalese father or mother Nepalese currency equivalent to US Dollars 5 per month.

      (c) For authorized journalist, Nepalese currency equivalent to US Dollars 10 per month.

      (d) Nepalese currency equivalent to US Dollars 20 Per month for foreigners having work permit to work in contract with HMG or an organization having full ownership of HMG or any Chinese citizen residing in Nepal since 1989 getting involved in any business transaction.

      (e) While issuing non-tourist Visa to a foreigner getting married to a Nepalese woman, Nepalese currency equivalent to US Dollars 20 per month.

      (f) For other foreigners, Nepalese currency equivalent to 60 US Dollars per month for the first year and equivalent to US Dollars 100 per month from the second year.

      (g) Nepalese currency equivalent to US Dollars 5 per month to Chinese Citizen of Tibetan origin coming to Nepal to meet his /her relative.

    		 Within 3 hours of process completion. Immigration officer at non-tourist Visa section Director/ Director General.
    12. Temporary non-tourist Visa (for the maximum period of three months.)

    • 4 copies of application form with photograph.

    • Recommendation letter from the related ministry for commercial Visa.

    • 1 copy of the page of Passport containing personal details of the passport holder.

    • 1 photocopy of the latest Visa.

    • Recommendation letter of the concerned authority in case of marriage Visa.

    • Recommendation letter of the concerned ministry for student and other non-tourist Visa.

    • Nepalese currency equivalent U.S. Dollars 60 for non-tourist Visa.

    • Nepalese currency equivalent to U.S. Dollars 40 for student Visa.

    • Nepalese currency equivalent to U.S. Dollars 100 for commercial Visa.

    • Nepalese currency equivalent to U.S. Dollars 10 for non -tourist Visa in case of marriage.

    • For the first time in the Visa year, US Dollars 30 for a period of 60 days, for second time onwards in the same Visa year, US Dollars 30 for 30 days. However, no Visa fee shall be charged for citizens of the SAARC countries and citizen of the People's Republic of China and tourists coming to Nepal for duration of three days or less than that and tourist coming again in the same Visa year who has spent a time of 15 days earlier in Nepal in one Visa year.
